Chic setting for any kind of evening.
A long drive to Yas Island is always worth it when you have a place like Filini Garden to go to. The place has a great atmosphere with outdoor terraces looking to Abu Dhabi glittering lights on the horizon.
It could be for a ladies night out or a date night, this garden-theme inspired venue has the right character to fit any avatar you want.
We booked ourselves a table in the outdoor dining section which has less music chatter and can have a conversation without repeating ourselves – just in the mood for a simple cozy week night dinner is all.
With no further discussions, burrata was the first to be ordered than the drinks. Because, priorities.
This creamy goodness did not disappoint and hit the stride of the evening to a great direction. The textures from the artichoke added a nice level to the dish. Surprisingly, it was nice to pair the burrata with a Filini branded Bicicletta.
My ninja cravings for buratta might have been satisfied, but for cheese it had not yet. Casually ignoring the company on the table, I dug my nose in the menu for a bit longer and decided to go with Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and Grilled Corn-fed Chicken Breast.
The classic Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli has an edge to it with the anchovies cream it was comfortably sitting in. To me the Grilled Corn-fed Chicken was a safe bet while ordering. However, this dish surprised me and became an instant favourite. The chicken was done perfectly juicy, complimented by the well roasted and seasoned peppers and all married together with the pesto mayo.
What is the perfect tone to end this meal? The only answer is the Fondente, warm gooey chocolate lava cake accompanied with vanilla milk shake. Not too sweet, but the right balance. On a winter evening this is what you need to melt into ear-to-ear smiles.
Ninja Tip: Definitely make your way to the Ladies Night hosted every Monday called the Bellissima Mondays. A vibrant evening with a DJ, saxaphonist and unlimited sparkling for just AED 55. The is exactly where you want to be on a week night.
