Brunch at Bleu Blanc by David Myers, Dubai
This chic South France inspired venue transports you to another world the moment you step in. Located on the third floor with a view of the canal, Bleu Blanc has my favourite component – lots of natural light; complementing well with the elegant rustic shades of the decor.
I heard many good things about the amazing food at Bleu Blanc. With all honesty, I was quite skeptical if their brunch will be way too sophisticated with no life. I am happy to have been proven wrong. You step out of the elevator and the absolutely energetic DJ tunes will make you shake your hips and tap your foot as you enter.
As we were seated and said ready to indulge, a soiree of selected drinks and fresh salads were at the table. Avocado & Egg Tartine, Apple & Walnut salad, Salmon Roe along with other summer flavours were a great start for the brunch.
Impressed and intrigued, we were ready to try more of this fabulous menu. Black Angus Brisket, Vadouvan Chicken, Mac & Cheese with Black Truffles and some well done roasted vegetables waltzed their way to us. The one that stood out to me is the Charred Tiger Prawn. Had to go for seconds with very minimal space left in my stomach.
A few hours into some few amazing dishes, we were very close to food-coma. But it is never over until it is truly over. Which means, dessert time!
Although you get to savour all the choices on the dessert menu, what added the extra oomph to my experience was the Pit Roasted Pineapple served with perfectly moist savarin cake and vanilla cream. Just this with a glass of wine and overlooking the canal, nothing more is necessary for this fabulous Friday.
Overall this brunch has made me brag about it to everyone. Great music and generous staff that made sure I did not see the bottom of my wine glass, this is a perfect feel-good brunch with great flavours of freshly made food served at your table. Kudos to the team and chefs!
